It’s that time of year again, when we are seeing more and more deer on the move. We know that in this area it is not a shock to see deer no matter the season, but what makes this time of year different is the frequent movement of the whitetails. As the colder days creep in, deer are finding less resources for food which means they must constantly move to new areas, and with our communities growing there are less places each year for deer to call home. During fall, deer are covering more ground than they typically do during the other seasons. When the deer begin to venture out in search of food, shelter, and potential mates, it often lands them onto roadways causing a high risk of collision. Around this time of year, it is always a good idea to ensure your tire tread depth and brake systems are in good condition. This will not only help when stopping for unexpected wildlife on the road, but also for the snowy days coming during the winter.
